Thousands have reported issues with Spotify, including problems with its homepage and search function, on Wednesday, April 16. The reports on Downdetector started spiking at around 8 a.m., with nearly 50,000 users experiencing an outage.
Spotify, a music streaming service, tweeted about the issue on X, writing that the company is aware of the outage. The company stated, “Hi everyone! We’re aware of issues affecting the Spotify app and website loading. The right team is on it and working on a fix.”

Downdetector indicated users were having issues with the Spotify app and website. Many users tweeted out their problems on X. M wrote, “my spotify keeps pausing every song after 10 seconds.” Leonard Moser wrote, “Everybody running to Twitter to see if Spotify is down.”
“Spotify is down and the thoughts are getting in,” Gracie wrote.
“Why is spotify down?? Any app that I pay for is not allowed to be down,” Ari stated.
“spotify is down i thought my account was getting hacked,” cait wrote on X.

“Spotify down during my morning commute. THIS IS SICK,” Shail added.
