As the WTA Stuttgart Open rolls on, you have the best opportunities to make money on great matches since this tournament began. To let you in on how we make the sauce here at LWOS, we always aim for bets above 1.5 and try to stick to only one or so prop bets per match, with the rest called straight.

Sometimes, your only options are matches that mock most people’s judgment and common sense. For lack of a better word, your options suck and can feel like nonsense. To the untrained eye, it can feel like a newborn is randomly throwing darts at a wall, but the truth is that those are the only options, so I will always try to point you in the direction of a way to make money on the absurd. Perhaps I’ll throw in more prop bets to negate the fluff if people would prefer them.

WTA Stuttgart Open Quarterfinal

Ostapenko – Swiatek: Time 14:00

H2H: 5-0

Jelena Ostapenko versus Iga Swiatek is going to have the majority of the focus, and for good reason. Swiatek has never beaten Ostapenko, and they’ve met five previous times. This will be the first time they meet on clay, however. Four of the previous matches were on hardcourt, and one of them was on grass. Oddly, only two of them have gone beyond straight set victories by Ostapenko, with her most recent victory coming this year at Doha.   

Best Bet to Make

The books still see Swiatek as the favorite coming in, and it’s likely because the match is on clay. If Ostapenko had previously beaten Swiatek on clay four times, it would make more sense to list her as the favorite. It’s not that Ostapenko is bad on clay, as she’s 107-56 all-time; Swiatek is just so dominant on clay at 148-19 for her career. You can choose Ostapenko at 3.6 if you feel confident, but maybe taking Swiatek over 2.5 sets at 2.7 is the better option.  

That being said, Swiatek winning is a value bet for sure.

Gauff – Paolini: Time 18:30

H2H: 2-0

Coco Gauff is 2-0 versus Jasmine Paolini, but neither of those matches took place on a clay court. Right now, Gauff is coming off four straight tournaments on a hardcourt, and she’s looking to get past the round of 16 for the first time since Australia. For her part, Paolini is playing incredibly well in her last ten matches, going 8-2 with a semifinal appearance in Miami, right before Stuttgart.  

Best Bet to Make

The books have Gauff winning, and I think that’s pretty fair. She’s boasting a 70% winning percentage on clay courts to Paolini’s 65%. That said, I think both of these women are playing well enough at the moment that Paolini could force a 6-3-6-3 type of match, potentially even pipping a set. I don’t feel confident enough in Paolini pipping a set, but under 19.5 games at 2.4 is reasonable. 

That being said,  Gauff winning under 19.5 games is a value bet for sure.

Alexandrova – Pegula: Time 14:00

H2H: 2-2

Ekaterina Alexandrova and Jessica Pegula have met four different times in their careers. Pegula won both clay court matches, and Alexandrova took both hardcourt matches. Pegula hasn’t played since her victory in Charleston. Alexandrova’s last loss was Pegula at Charleston. Given that Pegula won her last tournament and made the finals of the tournament before that, she’s extremely dialed in right, and Alexandrova will need everything to go her way for the upset.   

Best Bet to Make

The books list Pegula as a favorite, and the best part is she’s met our minimum value and then some. At 1.66, you’re not going to find much better value for someone so likely to grab the win. She’s bested Alexandrova recently, and she dominates her on clay. Accounting for the rest that Pegula has enjoyed starting from he round of 16, and the fact that she’s undefeated on clay in 2025, it would be wise to take her moneyline at 1.66 via Betfair

That being said, Pegula to win is a value bet for sure.
