Taylor Swift is skipping the Met Gala for the ninth year in a row.
Despite speculation she would attend, Swift was absent from the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art tonight—as was her boyfriend, Travis Kelce.
Swift’s last public appearance was at the 2025 Super Bowl, where Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs lost to the Philadelphia Eagles. “When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care,” Swift has said previously of supporting Kelce, who plays tight end for the Chiefs. “The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you’re seeing someone. And we’re just proud of each other.”
The couple have been keeping a low profile in his off season. “She and Travis have been laying low, traveling, and enjoying some time off and quiet time together,” an insider recently told Entertainment Tonight. Another told People, “They have been traveling nonstop and very much enjoy it…They are making the most of their time off together. They are hanging out with friends, too. It’s a special time for them.”
It’s likely Swift skipped the Met Gala to stay out of the public eye.
Her most recent appearance at the Met Gala was way back in 2016, when she co-hosted the event in a Louis Vuitton minidress.
