Following an action-packed awards show season and a rather dramatic finale of The White Lotus, all eyes have turned toward spring’s main event: the Met Gala. This year’s festivities have already gotten plenty of press thanks to a historic focus on menswear, courtesy of the theme “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.” One question remains, however: who’s actually going to be there on the big day?
For the first time since 2019, this year’s Met Gala will have both co-chairs and a host committee, meaning we can safely assume the attendance of quite a few celebrities, including A$AP Rocky, Colman Domingo, Pharrell Williams, and Lewis Hamilton. Relatedly, Lebron James will make his Met Gala debut as honorary co-chair.
“They’re all men who aren’t afraid to take risks with their self-presentation. They take advantage of classic forms, but they also remix them and break them down in really new ways,” Costume Institute Curator in Charge Andrew Bolton told Vogue. “I think Black men and Black designers are very much at the forefront of this new renaissance in menswear.”
Ahead, a non-exhaustive list of who will—and won’t—be on Anna Wintour’s hand-selected guest list for this year’s Met Gala.

Met Gala regular Zendaya will once again be gracing the steps of the Metropolitan—except this time, she’ll be doing so without her longtime stylist Law Roach. The creative director confirmed that the pair would be attending separately during an interview with E! News at the Fashion Trust Awards on April 8.
“We are going to be on the Met Gala steps, yes, [but] separately this year,” Roach said. “That’s going to be really amazing. We’re doing our own thing this year, which is exciting.”

Given that he is one of this year’s co-chairs, Pharrell Williams will most definitely be in attendance at this year’s Met Gala. Odds are he will also be joined by his wife, Helen Lasichanh, who frequently accompanies him on the red carpet.

Fellow co-chair Colman Domingo is likewise a staple on the Met Gala steps. He teased a preview of his look during the Fashion Trust Awards on April 8. “It’s gonna be beautiful,” Domingo told E! News. “We just finalized our designs, and I think it’s going to be an epic look. If anything, I can tease that I’m playing with history. That’s all I can say.”
He continued, “We took some elements we really loved with one thing and pushed the envelope with other things. Then we arrived at what I think will make me feel my very best and feel very on point. And celebrate really fine tailoring.”

British race car driver Lewis Hamilton is also serving as a co-chair. When the announcement was made last October, he thanked the Met for giving him the platform to “uplift Black creatives on this scale.”
“This theme speaks to me deeply…” Hamilton wrote on Instagram. “For Black people across the diaspora, fashion is self-preservation. Fashion is resilience, and I can’t wait to further explore and amplify our underrepresented voices.”

This year’s fourth co-chair is Met Gala veteran A$AP Rocky, who will be joined by his better half, Rihanna. The Fenty founder confirmed as much during an interview with Entertainment Tonight last October. “He didn’t tell me anything,” she said. “All we have planned is to be there.”

On the heels of a rather iconic look last year that involved transforming into a sand sculpture, Tyla has been invited back for her second Met, this time as a member of the host committee. “I worked very close with the Balmain team,” the singer said of her 2024 gown. “They just went crazy with it. They molded it to fit me perfectly.”
The Met Gala’s host committee consists of a number of other stars who have made waves in their respective industries. The rest of the list includes WNBA star Angel Reese, Olympic sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson, actors Audra McDonald and Jeremy Pope, musicians Usher, and André 3000, fashion designers Grace Wales Bonner and Olivier Rousteing, and former British Vogue editor Edward Enninful, as well as Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Dapper Dan, Spike Lee, Tonya Lewis Lee, Regina King, Jordan Casteel, Rashid Johnson, Kara Walker, Jeremy O. Harris, and Branden Jacobs-Jenkins.

Despite co-chairing the event in 2022, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds have revealed they will not be in attendance in 2025. An exclusive source confirmed the news with People on March 21, but declined to comment on whether or not their absence had anything to do with Lively’s It Ends With Us legal drama.

Gisele Bündchen is soaking up time with her new baby and will not be at the 2025 Met Gala, according to TMZ. The supermodel gave birth in February after finding love again with her jiu-jitsu trainer Joaquim Valente.
