Users of WhatsApp across Pakistan and several other countries experienced service disruptions on Saturday, with many reporting an inability to send or receive messages.
According to international media reports, the outage began around midday in Pakistan, where users said they were unable to send texts, images, or videos through the platform.
The issue was widely reported on social media, where users expressed frustration over the disruption and flagged problems with accessing the app.
“Messages aren’t going through, and media files aren’t uploading either,” said one user on X, formerly Twitter.
As of now, there has been no official statement from Meta, the parent company of WhatsApp, addressing the cause or expected duration of the outage.
The disruption appears to be part of a broader, global technical issue affecting the messaging service.
