Met Gala Monday has arrived, and if you didn’t snag a spot on the exclusive invite list, don’t fret — there are still plenty of ways to watch!

The annual event brings together the biggest names in fashion and entertainment, serving as a fundraiser for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute. This year’s Met Gala takes place on May 5 and honors the new spring exhibition with its theme: “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.”

During an April 2025 appearance on The Run-Through With Vogue podcast, Pharrell Williams, who is also one of this year’s co-chairs, teased what people can expect from the event, saying, “It’s going to be a very impactful, beautiful night where we celebrate the color Black.”

“We celebrate the things that come from that color,” the “Happy” singer said. “We celebrate the mentality. We celebrate the plight. We celebrate the progress and the success. And we celebrate the potential.”

From when it begins to how to stream the red carpet, here’s everything to know about how to watch the 2025 Met Gala.

Teyana Taylor, Ego Nwodim and La La Anthony will lead Vogue‘s red carpet coverage, with Emma Chamberlain serving as the outlet’s special correspondent.

Both Anthony and Chamberlain have hosted the red carpet in previous years, while Taylor has attended the evening as a guest. This will, however, mark Nwodim’s first Met Gala appearance.

“The great thing about the Met Gala red carpet is that you never know what to expect or what you’re going to see,” Anthony told PEOPLE in 2023. “There’s always a surprise, like Zendaya when she came out in that Cinderella dress or Lady Gaga and all her dresses or Blake Lively when her dress changed colors when she moved it around. I’m just looking forward to what’s going to be our ‘wow’ [moment].”

As for the event itself, it will be co-hosted by a group of Met Gala veterans and newcomers alike, including Colman Domingo, F1 driver Lewis HamiltonA$AP Rocky, Williams and Anna Wintour. LeBron James will serve as honorary chair.

The 2025 Met Gala theme is “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” and the dress code is “Tailored for You.”

According to Vogue, the dress code is a nod to the exhibition’s focus on menswear.

As always, it’s up to attendees to interpret the theme as they wish, but it draws inspiration from Monica L. Miller’s 2009 book, Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity.

“Black style is really related to thinking about how fashion and power connect,” Miller told Vogue ahead of the big night. “The way that people are styled, are fashioned or fashion themselves, in response to the degree of agency that they feel.”

“Silhouettes change, use of pattern, color — all of those things change in relationship to time, and relationship to history,” she continued. “Fashion, power, aesthetics, politics — those are all wrapped up in one way that we can see the world.”
