It’s Decades Night on The Masked Singer, which means we all tuned into what the show called Mystery Mixed Radio!
Questionable nicknames aside, the evening was certainly one for the history books as each celebrity had to perform a hit from an iconic era. Panelists Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg, Ken Jeong, and Rita Ora dressed up like they stepped out of a time machine from the 1950s, ’60s, ’70s, and ’80s, respectively, but don’t let that fool you.
The final contestants from Group C — Nessy, Mad Scientist Monster, and Yorkie — did not follow that particular decades trend, opting to jump around more in time instead. The trio kicked off the episode with a performance of “My Sharona” by the Knack.
Then Yorkie took us back to the ‘60s with the Supremes’ “Stop! In the Name of Love.” After a clue brought via a time machine (what else?), guesses for Yorkie included Lori Loughlin (Thicke), Kyle Richards (Jeong), and Erika Jayne (McCarthy-Wahlberg).
Then it was time for Jeong to put his comedic chops to use. “I am dressed in the ‘70s, because I just turned 71 years old,” he joked. Ora then explained why she was dressed like an ’80s fever dream — “I feel like ‘80s is all about happiness, fitness, jazzercising” — which prompted host Nick Cannon to poke fun at her by asking her how does she know, if she wasn’t born in the ‘80s (she was born in 1990).

To make all of us feel even older, Mad Scientist Monster brought us back to the — wait for it — 2010s with ”Love Yourself” by Justin Bieber, falsetto and all. Guesses for him this time around included Brad Paisley (Jeong), Blake Shelton (McCarthy-Wahlberg), and Billy Ray Cyrus (Ora), the latter of which prompted Jeong to joke, “He’s achy, he’s breaky, and he has a heart that is evergreen.”
Nessy capped off the competition with ’80s hit “Can’t Fight This Feeling” by REO Speedwagon, which seemed perfectly suited to his wheelhouse. The panel did not stray from their earlier guesses for him, throwing out familiar names like Dave Matthews, Daryl Hall, and Pat Monahan of Train once more.
Perhaps because of these unoriginal guesses, Lucky Duck had a blast from the past exclusive clue ready for everyone, featuring season 3’s Banana, a.k.a. Bret Michaels.
“What’s going on my friends?” he says via video. “It is your friendly neighborhood Banana, Bret Michaels, Bandana Banana. Right now, I just want to tell you I have rocked out with this person many times, Nessy. And I just need you to know this: If you don’t get this one, I’ll be shocked.”
Since this was the Group C finale, there were two separate votes to determine who the final Lucky Six contestants would be. The first vote revealed that Mad Scientist Monster was the contestant to automatically move on to the next round. This left Yorkie and Nessy to head to the Battle Royale to do their own unique takes on “Hard to Handle” by Otis Redding.
Before the final vote, Lucky Duck appeared, in person this time, to partake in the time-honored tradition of chastising the panel — this time to their faces.
“Before you vote, panel, I must remind you of the stakes,” he told them. “So far, we’ve had eight celebrities unmasked, and you’ve only gotten four right. Shame on ya. You guys need to be better at your jobs.”
He quacked away their subsequent excuses. “I have something that could motivate you,” he added, before bringing out McCarthy-Wahlberg’s favorite accessory, the Golden Ear trophy, which hasn’t been seen in many seasons. With a shake of his tail feathers, he departed, saying he’s headed to the future and next week’s Lucky Six episode.

McCarthy-Wahlberg then explained to Ora how the trophy works — basically, whoever on the panel guesses the most contestants right wins it at the end of the season — and joked that they discontinued it because she kept winning the prize.
After all that, Yorkie got sent to the pound, which meant Nessy is joining Mad Scientist Monster, Coral, Paparazzo, Boogie Woogie, and Pearl in the Lucky Six next week. Final guesses for Yorkie were: Lori Loughlin (Thicke), Paris Hilton (Ora), Kyle Richards (Jeong), and Erika Jayne (McCarthy-Wahlberg).

When it was all said and done and Yorkie gave one final wag of her tail, she was revealed to be Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, singer, and actress Erika Jayne. (And McCarthy-Wahlberg proved once again that she’s a formidable threat to win the Golden Ear trophy yet again.)
The Masked Singer airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Fox.
