Snap reactions to the Broncos third round pick, Pat Bryant

The Denver Broncos wrapped up their second day of the 2025 NFL Draft with what many think might be a bit of a reach after they snagged Illinois wide receiver Pat Bryant. This pick reeks of scheme fit and the whole reach discussion will likely be hotly contested as it was with our diverse opinions on the staff.

That said, in a year if Pat Bryant is dealing in the run game and a solid possession type receiver then who cares if people thought it was a reach tonight.

Chris Hart: I had Pat Bryant in my final mock draft for the Broncos, but in the fifth-round. Here is what I had to say about him:

Illinois wide receiver Pat Bryant is a prospect that’s being slept on in this year’s class. Bryant had a breakout campaign with the Illini this past season posting 54 catches for 984 yards and 10 touchdowns. By all accounts, he has had an impressive pre-draft circuit, performed well and interviews, and his football intelligence is reportedly off the charts. Teams looking for a physical receiver who blocks well, moves the chains, and shows quality contested catch ability will value his skillset. In my opinion, he would give the Broncos a quality developmental ‘X’ receiver and another target for Nix to help get their offense to the next level.

Sadaraine: Pat Bryant is a sure pass catcher who has size. He lacks straight-line speed, but you can see some quality route running from his tape. He’s going to be a receiver that Nix is going to love because he will be at his spot when he is supposed to be every time and won’t drop the ball. I think he could have been had later in the draft, but I definitely trust this front office. They like what they see, and that means getting Bryant as a Bronco is a win.

Joe Mahoney: I don’t understand this pick with all of the other WRs still on the board. 6-3 190 is not that big. We have three WRs on the roster who are taller. Franklin is 6-3, but has speed.

Scotty Payne: Pay Bryant isn’t a flashy WR why you see some hate in here but he is a Sean Payton wide receiver. He doesn’t care about the media draft boards, he likes what he likes. Bryant is a sure handed physical receiver who in a menace in the run game. He fits the makeup of this team and likely will have a key role this upcoming season.
