- Brentford 4-1 Man Utd
- Not for the first time this season, Manchester United are well and truly second best.

Daniel Gabbidon

- You’ve got to say that’s the correct decision. I don’t think he was quite sure with his initial decision. I’m glad to see Willock getting booked as well because you see it so often these days where they go over easily and don’t.

Kevin Schade

- Surely, all over now?
- Kevin Schade has been a real threat all afternoon and he earns his side a two-goal cushion with a header after getting on the end of a cross.
- One again, big questions about Manchester United’s marking.
- West Ham 1-1 Tottenham
- That’s more like it!
- Jarrod Bowen – accidentally – catches Yves Bissouma with a right hook to the face while challenging for the ball.
- Bissouma felt that but play goes on.
- At least Bowen is showing a bit of punch.

Francis Benali
- Former Southampton defender on BBC Radio Sports Extra at the Gtech Stadium
- It’s clearly a gameplan from Brentford, but they get success when they put United under pressure.

- Manchester United’s first corner arrives….in the 65th minute.
- Christian Eriksen has skied an attempt from outside the box.
- West Ham 1-1 Tottenham
- This London derby is pretty tame by the usual standards.
- Just the two yellow cards so far.
- There’s nothing ferocious about this.
- But there’s still time…

- West Ham 1-1 Tottenham
- If West Ham are going to win this, it’s going to require something special – and Jarrod Bowen very nearly produces a moment of magic.
- The England man attempts something spectacular from a difficult angle inside the Spurs box.
- Just wide.
Brighton 1-0 Newcastle
- It is indeed a free-kick, just outside the box.
- A let-off for Brighton.

- People may criticise Fernandes and Casemiro, but they’re the only players who would have berated that horrible defending and passing. Not one player can be seen holding each other to account for poor defending and passing.

- If you look at both teams I think Newcastle have probably looked the most dangerous of the two in the first-half.
- I don’t think quality wise it’s been great from either side – the one bit of quality coming from the Minteh goal.
- I think Eddie Howe will be disappointed for the defending for the goal and I think he will be disappointed in their final third stuff. He will want to tidy things up at the break.

Francis Benali

- Brighton 1-0 Newcastle
- Oooh a nervous moment for Sandro Tonali just before half-time as he almost loses the ball to Yankuba Minteh. Newcastle lose possession and Minteh was through but Tonali just about manages to get out of trouble.
- Brentford 2-1 Man Utd
- It’s all Brentford!
- Kevin Schade is some player and the German uses his strength to force a low diving save from Altay Bayindir.
- Moments later Manchester United’s back-up keeper produces an incredible stop to deny Christian Norgaard after the Brentford skipper gets on the end of a free-kick.
- West Ham 1-1 Tottenham
- So close for Spurs!
- Ange Postecoglou cannot believe his side has not scored.

- His mind was made up, he looked up and there wasn’t anyone to pull it back to. He thought, ‘my mind’s made up and I’m having a shot here’.
- Brighton 1-0 Newcastle
- A win for Brighton will be a boost to their hopes of securing European football next season. As things stand they are eighth.
- A defeat for Newcastle, meanwhile, would be a blow to their hopes of Champions League football.
- Brighton 1-0 Newcastle
Daniel Gabbidon
- Former Premier League defender on BBC Radio 5 Live
- It’s the first opportunity really that Brighton have had. The end product hasn’t been good until now but on this occasion it was fantastic.
- Somehow, with three or four Newcastle bodies in and around him, Minteh is able to cut inside on his left foot and whip it into the far corner. It’s a fantastic finish.
Jarrod Bowen
- Cool as you like from Jarrod Bowen!
- Straight through the legs of Guglielmo Vicario after a beautifully measured pass by Aaron Wan-Bissaka caught Spurs out.
- Ange Postecoglou will be unhappy with his side’s defending but West Ham fans don’t care – they’re celebrating.
Yankuba Minteh (28 mins)
- But it is Brighton who take the lead!
- Tino Livramento heads away a cross but the ball comes back into the box to former Newcastle player Yankuba Minteh.
- He steps away from a defender before curling a brilliant strike into the top corner. He has no qualms celebrating it in front of the Newcastle fans too.
- Brighton 0-0 Newcastle
- The better chances – or any chances at all for that matter – continue to go Newcastle’s way as Joe Willock prods a shot just over the bar.
Luke Shaw (own goal)
- Luke Shaw almost scored an own goal in the opening couple of minutes – and now he has!
- It starts with a long throw-in into the Manchester United box which Brentford cannot get clear.
- Michael Kayode is heavily involved and the attempt brushes off Shaw on its way into the net.
- Brentford 0-1 Man Utd
- A long way to go in this but Manchester United are carrying on from where they finished off in Bilbao.
- This is a really controlled and mature performance from this young team.
- Brentford started strongly and still pose a big threat but United are soaking up the pressure and are trying to catch the hosts on the counter.
- Brighton 0-0 Newcastle

- West Ham 0-1 Tottenham
Matt Jarvis

- Great break down the left-hand-side from United. Alejandro Garnacho finding time and space. It wasn’t a great clearance from Mark Flekken.
- Mason Mount is eight yards out and he has timed his run perfectly. All he has to do is side-foot it into the net.
- Perfect start for the visitors.
Wilson Odobert
- West Ham’s defending is all over the place as Wilson Odobert is afforded so much time and space to finish.
- The assist comes from Mathys Tel.
- Too easy for Spurs and the problems mount for Graham Potter and West Ham.
- Brighton 0-0 Newcastle
Daniel Gabbidon
- Former Premier League defender on BBC Radio 5 Live
- It’s just a long ball played forward into the channel and Brighton don’t deal with the situation.
- It’s a tight angle and Barnes fires the shot low through the legs of Van Hecke and Verbruggen gets a touch to put it wide.
- Brighton 0-0 Newcastle
- Newcastle are starting to take control now and Jacob Murphy’s low cross from the right requires Bart Verbruggen to push away.
Mason Mount
- Maybe Thomas Tuchel is looking at Mason Mount!
- If he is then he’s just seen him score just his second Premier League goal for Manchester United.
- It’s a great move and Alejandro Garnacho is right at the heart of it as he gallops forward before finding Mount in space inside the box and he finishes confidently.
- Brighton 0-0 Newcastle
- The first shot of the game goes Newcastle’s way.
- There’s a mix up in the Brighton defence as two players go for a long ball and make a mess of it. The ball squirms through to Harvey Barnes, who breaks towards the box before his shot takes the slightest deflection to go wide of the far post.

- The priority for Manchester United is certainly the Europa League next week. There’s a lot of changes in the side – Chido Obi, an academy starlet from Arsenal and now he’s at United. It will be interesting to see how these new players fit in today.
- West Ham 0-0 Tottenham
- It’s a more sedate start at London Stadium compared to the fast start at the Gtech. Alphonse Areola and Guglielmo Vicario are yet to be tested.

- Some early concern here for Brighton because Yankuba Minteh is down on the ground and holding his knee.
- The physio comes on and helps him to stretch it before giving a thumbs up to the dugout. Seems like all OK for now.

- Great start by Brentford.
- Now a chance for Kevin Schade but his blazes high and wide.

- Brentford 0-0 Man Utd

- Let’s not forget Graham Potter has come in halfway through the season and is taking on somebody else’s team. Trying to implement a philosophy can be difficult.
- Sometimes we are too protective of players and if a manager comes out and says anything then they are viewed as not looking after their squad.
- Sometimes they need some home truths. I have been on a coaching team and it is difficult with the hours people put in behind the scenes when they are always the first to be questioned or the first to be sacked.
- I do not think Potter is trying to undermine anyone – he just believes he should be getting more from his team.

- Brighton got back to winning ways last weekend thanks to Carlos Baleba’s brilliant late strike against West Ham.
- The Seagulls beat Newcastle at St James’ Park earlier in the season too, but that was before Eddie Howe’s side hit their stride, and it is a big ask for Brighton to repeat that result.
- Newcastle were just relentless in their win over Ipswich and another three points here would be massive in their bid for a top-five finish – I don’t think they will get them, but we will see a few goals.

- Mel: Dare we dream about Europe? Incredible team spirit and winning mentality continues to deliver exceptional performances. Our run-in looks favourable when compared to others, and a result against Manchester United keeps the European dream alive.

- I have to say, Anfield was very, very special.
- The last time they won the title in front of supporters was 12,783 days ago.
- The atmosphere was very, very special. Being at Anfield was probably up there with other memorable games, such as Dortmund in 2016 and Barcelona in 2019.
- I felt privileged to be there with all of the supporters.
- I deliberately didn’t talk over You’ll Never Walk Alone before the game. I said to the engineer: “We’re not going to talk here – we’ll let the atmosphere speak for itself.”
- There are certain occasions when the magnitude of the game speaks for itself and you make that decision.

- Kings Cross Bear: A lot of us want to see Spurs lift the Europa League, but don’t believe Postecoglou is “just having a difficult time”. He’s been having a difficult time for the vast majority of his time as manager. Spurs league position tells us just how poor we’ve become.

- Brentford’s centre-back Sepp van den Berg, speaking to Sky Sports: “We’re in a good flow and we’re playing some food football.”

- Richard: I find it hugely frustrating that clubs like Fulham, Brighton, Bournemouth and Forest have found a way to progress while West Ham have gone backwards. A transition from Lopetegui to Potter will take time for sure but I worry that some players don’t really care, they just move on somewhere else. We need a good season in 2025-26 and a bit of fresh blood or I really can see a relegation on the horizon. It is time for brave management and leadership with another overhaul of the playing squad.

- One win in eight Premier League matches, 90 minutes away from the Europa League final. Tottenham’s Premier League season has been a write-off but will they end it by landing a first European trophy since 1984?
- Domestically Tottenham are facing their worst season since 1976–77, sitting in 16th place on little over a point per game.
- There is a good chance Australian Postecoglou will lose his job whatever happens in Europe now, such has been their debacle at home, but finishing on a trophy would be some way to go.

- Man Utd boss Ruben Amorim, speaking to Sky Sports about his squad’s rotation: “It is really hard because we want to improve in the table. In this moment I think everyone can understand our choice.”
- On Chido Ob’s first start in the Premier League: “We need to focus a lot on our young players. For me, it is not a massive game for Chido. I know it’s important for Chido, but I don’t want a lot of pressure on Chido.
- “He played really well in the minutes against Wolverhampton. I feel he is ready to cope with the demands of the Premier League.”

- Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho, speaking to Sky Sports: “We got a very good away result [against Athletic Bilbao]. It is important for us to be in that final.

Have the wheels come off at Arsenal?
Since winning 4-0 at Ipswich on 20 April, Mikel Arteta’s side have been held at home by Crystal Palace, lost at home to Paris St-Germain in the Champions League and lost at home to Bournemouth.
Newcastle, who start today in fourth, will move two points behind the Gunners with a win today.
And it’s a big day for Chelsea. The Blues will give their Champions League hopes a huge boost with three points if Liverpool have a hangover after all those celebrations.
