Peter Schrager, the NFL insider and TV personality, is leaving Fox Sports and NFL Network with ESPN the leading candidate to be his next destination, sources briefed on the move told The Athletic.
Schrager has no signed contract yet with ESPN. If the deal is finalized, Schrager is expected to be on the network’s daily shows, including “NFL Live,” “Get Up,” “First Take” and other studio programming. ESPN is gearing up for its initial Super Bowl in February 2027. Schrager would likely have a role in draft coverage.
ESPN declined to comment on the potential move.
Schrager, 42, has gained resonance in the business with his public relationships with top coaches, players and executives in the NFL. He rose to prominence as NFL Network’s “Good Morning Football” grew in popularity. Last season, the show moved to Los Angeles. Schrager occasionally appeared in studio but continued to live in New York and often appeared remotely.
With Fox, Schrager had a Super Bowl pregame role and was on the network’s weekly 11 a.m. pregame show.
