His coach brought the flamethrower to the postgame news conference, but Tyrese Haliburton basically had a shoulder shrug when asked about Tuesday’s anonymous NBA player survey from The Athletic that labeled him the league’s most overrated player.

“It didn’t impact the way I played tonight at all,” the two-time All-Star point guard said after scoring 21 points with 12 assists in the Pacers‘ 123-115 Game 2 win over Milwaukee.

“I must be doing something right. I don’t have a big speech or comment. All I care about is this locker room and winning games. And we’re in position to go to Milwaukee and continue this series on so… Not too worried about that. I know I’m confident in my own skin. I’m not worried about what everybody thinks. My teammates trust me, my front office, my coaching staff. I’m good. I (couldn’t) care less.”

While he’s confident in his own skin, he’s clearly getting under his opponents’.

Haliburton seemed extra vocal in Tuesday’s Game 2 win, likely spurred on by the results of the survey, but also with the return of Damian Lillard, who he was jawing with in Game 1 even though the Bucks star was in street clothes.

“All that extracurricular stuff doesn’t matter,” Haliburton said. “But it is fun though. I’m not gonna lie. It is fun.”
