The first round of the 2025 NFL Draft begins tonight at 8 pm EDT.
The New York Jets currently own the seventh overall selection. There isn’t a lot of buzz this year about the Jets trading up or down in the first round, but if the right offer is there the Jets could make a move. Trading down is probably a likelier move for the Jets, but with a new regime in town, anything is possible. My guess is the Jets stay put and make their first round pick at #7.
The names most prominently associated with the Jets in the first round include offensive tackles Armand Membou and Kelvin Banks Jr, tight end Tyler Warren, cornerback Jahdae Barron, defensive tackle Mason Graham and linebacker Jalon Walker. It is a bit surprising that so many defensive players are featured for a team bereft of offensive skill position talent, but that may be the way this draft falls. We will see shortly what direction the Jets go in.
