NBA Makes Major Nikola Jokic Announcement Before Playoffs

The 2024-25 NBA regular season will be remembered for numerous reasons.

From the Thunder’s record-setting run to Luka Doncic getting traded to LA, this season has been littered with storylines.

But, on Thursday, the NBA decided to highlight none other than Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic

Jokic has done something no one in the history of the game has ever accomplished: finish top three in scoring, rebounding and assists in the same season.

In 69 games played, Jokic has been nothing short of sensational: 29.6 points, 12.7 rebounds and 10.2 assists per night. The points and assists are career highs as he finished third in scoring and rebounding and second in assists.

All year long, one of the biggest debates around the league has been who is going to win the MVP, Jokic or Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

SGA has powered his team to a league-best 68-14 record while averaging 32.7 points per game, the most in the NBA.

On the other side, you have Jokic, holding the Nuggets together through roster shake-ups and coaching changes with his trademark blend of passing wizardry and low-post dominance.

Jokic also became the first center ever to average a triple-double over a full season, joining only Oscar Robertson and Russell Westbrook as players to average double-digits marks in three statistical categories.

Whether Jokic hoists his fourth MVP or not, he’s already made history.
