Among the favorites to contend for the Masters this year was Ludvig Aberg, who finished solo second to Scottie Scheffler in 2024.
While he missed the cut at his last two events heading into the first major tournament of the year, Aberg turned it on when he needed to with a four-under, 68 on Thursday, April 10. Sitting at even par through the first 11 holes, the Swede carded four birdies in his final seven holes to move to four-under for the day and just three shots off the lead.

“It was sneaky hard,” Aberg said of the conditions at Augusta National, via Fox54. “There isn’t a ton of wind, but it still swirls. “There’s a few greens that get a little crusty towards the end of the afternoon, and you really have to place your second shots if you’re good off the tee. It makes it tricky when the wind kind of goes back in your face and then down.”
Before the Masters teed off, Aberg enjoyed the Par 3 contest with girlfriend Olivia Peet, a tennis player who made it clear she’s not turning in her racquet for a golf club any time soon.
“Well that was fun⛳️ but… think I’ll stick to tennis!” she joked.

“Cutest caddie there ever was 🤩🤩,” said one person.
“But you looked good doing it🤩,” added another.
“at least the ball was airborne ahaha!! so cute,” joked a third.
In his second time around Augusta National, Aberg admitted the experience helps.
“This place, experience goes a long way, and I felt like we played a very disciplined round of golf today,” he said. “When you execute the shots, it makes it a whole lot easier, obviously, but I felt like we managed sort of the shots where we were in between clubs in the right way and didn’t try to force anything.”
