San Francisco Jury Convicts Ronaldo Ramirez-Feliciano of DUI on Mission Street

San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins announced that a conviction had been secured for 21-year-old Ronaldo Ramirez-Feliciano for driving under the influence on Mission Street. The conviction includes charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 percent or greater. The jury’s decision was reported earlier today.

Jenkins expressed gratitude to the jury for their contribution, stating, “My office takes driving under the influence cases seriously and will do everything possible to curb this behavior to make our roads safer.” The harmful impact of DUI on public safety was underscored, with Jenkins reminding the community that “thousands of lives are also lost to this easily preventable crime,” according to the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office.

The conviction stems from an incident on May 16, 2024. California Highway Patrol officers pulled over Ramirez-Feliciano’s blue Toyota Tacoma after witnessing the vehicle straddling the double yellow lines and emitting loud music near Mission and Bosworth Streets. The officers detected an odor of alcohol within the vehicle and observed nystagmus in Ramirez-Feliciano’s eyes, leading to a series of Field Sobriety Tests, which he performed poorly on three of the four.

After refusing to blow into the Preliminary Alcohol Screening Device, a blood test eventually revealed that Mr. Ramirez-Feliciano had a blood alcohol concentration of .132%. Assistant District Attorney Max Draskovich, who prosecuted the case with assistance from paralegal Josh Nickchen, commended the jury’s diligence, “This verdict serves as a reminder that impaired driving puts lives at risk,” Draskovich articulated, as per the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office.

Currently out of custody, Ramirez-Feliciano is scheduled for sentencing today.
