After the contest at Madison Square Garden, Knicks coach Tom Thiboodeau revealed that Towns, who wasn’t dealing with a significant injury, was out of action due to “personal reasons.”
Then, Towns’ girlfriend of five years, Jordyn Woods, shared a message on X, writing, “F*** Cancer.”
The 27-year-old model didn’t open up about her cancer remark.
However, Woods’ father died of cancer in 2017.
Fans sent out their support for Woods on social media, including Knicks star Jalen Brunson, who replied, “Oh no.”
Actor and big Knicks fan Ben Stiller also replied to her, writing “Agree,” along with orange and blue heart emojis.
The Knicks have a 3-3 record without Towns.
The 29-year-old has averaged 24.5 points, 13.4 rebounds, and 3.1 assists in his first campaign with the Knicks.
Thibodeau didn’t provide a timeline for when Towns could be back on the Knicks starting lineup.
“I can’t answer that,” he said before Tuesday’s game. “I can’t, because I just don’t know, so when he’s ready to come back, obviously we want him back.

Towns last played in the Knicks’ overtime win over the Miami Heat on Sunday when he finished with 19 points and 16 rebounds.
The Knicks will begin a five-game West Coast trip on Thursday when they take on the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Knickerbockers will look for contributions in the frontcourt from Mitchell Robinson, who has returned recently after suffering an ankle injury last May.
