Karl-Anthony Towns missed the New York Knicks‘ latest game against the Golden State Warriors due to personal reasons, and his availability for the upcoming road trip remains uncertain.

When asked whether Towns would travel to Los Angeles for the start of the trip, head coach Tom Thibodeau gave a vague response.

“I can’t answer that,” Thibodeau said. “I can’t, because I just don’t know, so when he’s ready to come back, obviously we want him back. But he needs some time right now.”

Towns’ girlfriend, Jordyn Woods, recently posted “F— Cancer” on social media, leading many to wonder if there’s a family-related situation behind his absence.

Towns has been a key player for the Knicks this season, averaging 24.5 points, 13.4 rebounds, and 3.1 assists over 54 games. The 29-year-old last played on March 2 against Miami.

In his absence, New York lost to Golden State, 114-102.
