BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WANE) – Darian DeVries will be introduced as the new head men’s basketball coach at Indiana University on Wednesday the school has announced.
The school is holding a press conference at 11:30 a.m. at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall to formally introduce DeVries.
DeVries comes to Bloomington after serving as the head coach at West Virginia for just one season. Ironically, the Mountaineers were left out of the NCAA Tournament field when it was announced this past Sunday, same as the Hoosiers.
DeVries went 19-13 in his only season with West Virginia. Prior to WVU he was the head coach at Drake for six seasons, making the NCAA Tournament three times.
DeVries replaces Mike Woodson, who announced in February that he planned to step aside following the 2024-25 campaign. Woodson spent four seasons leading his alma mater in Bloomington, posting a record of 82-53, including a 19-13 record this season.
