After 30 years behind the anchor desk at “Inside Edition,” Deborah Norville is stepping away from the nightly TV newsmagazine. Norville, who is the longest-serving anchor on American television, will leave the show at the end of the current season, CBS Media Ventures announced on Wednesday.”It has been such an honor and privilege to be here at Inside Edition for all these years,” Norville said in a statement she will read on Wednesday night’s show. “A milestone like this is a time for reflection, and on reflection, I have decided that now is the time for me to move on from Inside Edition.”Norville said the showrunners gave her a “lovely offer to stay,” but she has plans that wouldn’t permit her to stay.”I’ve got some exciting things in the works, which I’ll talk about later, but what I want to say right now is what a privilege it’s been to lead Inside Edition for all these years,” she said. “To work with the incredibly talented team here, and to be invited into your homes every day, it’s an honor I don’t take lightly.”Norville has anchored “Inside Edition” since March 1995. Before that, she was an anchor and correspondent for CBS News. Norville has won two national Emmy Awards and in 2024, received the Edward F.
