The WTA Doubles Final in the 2025 Miami Open will feature two teams that entered the tournament unseeded. Both of these teams are the ultimate underdogs and have the opportunity here to earn a doubles title. The team of Miyu Kato and Cristina Busca upset the top-seeded team of Taylor Townsend and Katerina Siniakova in the semifinals. After dropping the first set they were able to even up the match in the second, building momentum for the third-set tiebreaker. They face off with the team of Diana Shnaider and Mirra Andreeva to close this run through the Miami Open. Andreeva has made a splash in singles winning two events this year.

Andreeva took down Clara Tausen to start the year and upset Aryna Sabalenka at Indian Wells to continue her momentum this year. The 17 year old rising star is ranked sixth in singles and 29th in doubles already in her young career.

In the semifinals the team of Andreeva and Shnaider punched their ticket to the finals with a straight sets win. They were in control from the beginning, defeating the unseeded team of Jiang Xinyu and Wu Fang-Hsien 6-0, 7-5 to advance to the finals.

The last time this duo was in the finals of a doubles tournament they won the Sold Medal in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. They are also unseeded and massive underdogs in that tournament picking up wins over the fifth-seed, eighth-seed and opening the Gold Medal match winning the first set before coming up just short.
