SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) – The WNBA draft takes place tonight in New York City and four Notre Dame players are hoping to hear their names called.
Sonia Citron, Liza Karlen, Liatu King and Maddy Westbeld have all declared for the draft, but how many of them will get picked?
Citron is a sure thing, and will likely be one of the top five picks. She is a versatile player coveted by many WNBA teams. The other three have not been listed in many of the three round mock drafts, although Westbeld and King have been listed as picks in a couple mocks. They may have to sign as undrafted free agents and try to make a team that way.
Only 38 women are chosen in the WNBA draft. The first round is 12 picks, while the second and third rounds will have 13 picks.
WNDU.com will keep you updated on the draft tonight. It begins at 7:30 on ESPN.
