Detroit Lions
Slay Jr. began his career in Detroit and emerged as an All-Pro corner during his seven-year stint in the Motor City. A reunion with the Lions for what might be his final NFL season would be fitting, particularly with Detroit in Super Bowl contention. The Lions had their share of struggles defensively as injuries mounted in 2024 and ranked just 30th in the league in passing yards allowed per game (244). While Detroit could already use an upgrade or two at cornerback, it has six players at the position entering free agency this offseason headlined by veteran Carlton Davis III. Slay Jr. would be a fitting replacement for Davis III in particular and his veteran presence in the defensive backfield alongside Brian Branch and Kerby Joseph could be vital as Detroit transitions defensive coordinators from Aaron Glenn to Kelvin Sheppard.
