The U.S. National Weather Service in Gaylord posted warnings about ice accumulations online. It said the greatest icing potentials are east of U.S.131 and north of M-72 through the afternoon, as well as Eastern Upper Michigan and the islands.

The NWS said roads will continue to be impassable in some areas because of downed trees, debris, power poles, and power lines. The Mackinac Bridge Authority warned drivers about high winds of 20 – 34 mph in the Straits area. Motorists were told to reduce their speed and stay in the right-hand lane due to ice formation on the grating of the bridge.
