It took 83 games, but the Golden State Warriors finally have a playoff opponent. After missing a chance to clinch a playoff spot on Sunday (and a dramatic first-round matchup with the Los Angeles Lakers), the Dubs punched their ticket to the playoffs on Tuesday with a 121-116 win over the Memphis Grizzlies. That gave Golden State the seventh seed in the Western Conference, and a first-round date with the Houston Rockets.
And now that Tuesday’s game has finished, we have a complete schedule for that first round series.
The series begins this Sunday, April 20, at 6:30 p.m. PT in Houston. Game 2 will be Wednesday, April 23, also at 6:30 p.m. PT.
Both teams will head back to San Francisco after that, with Games 3 and 4 at the Chase Center. Those games will take place on Saturday, April 26 at 5:30 p.m. PT and Monday, April 28 at 7:00 p.m. PT.
If necessary, Game 5 will be back in Houston on Wednesday, April 30, with Game 6 in the Bay Area on Friday, May 2. Should a thrilling Game 7 transpire, it would be on Sunday, May 4 in Houston. The tip-off time has yet to be determined for potential final three games of the series, as it will depend on what other series are still ongoing.
Games 1, 2, and 4 will be broadcast on both TNT and NBC Sports Bay Area. Game 3 will be broadcast exclusively on ABC. The broadcast information for Games 5-7 is not yet determined. All seven potential games will be broadcast on radio by 95.7 The Game.
With their first-round opponent now determined, the Warriors also have some more info on their potential Western Conference Semifinals opponent. Should the Warriors beat the Rockets, they’ll face either the Lakers or the Minnesota Timberwolves, who kick off their first-round series on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. PT.
