BEREA, Ohio – The Browns have a possible trade down from No. 2 brewing, a league source tells cleveland.com.

GM Andrew Berry is fielding calls, so strap in.

If one comes to fruition, they’ll likely be trading away from receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter, whom most experts believes they would draft.

Some teams looking to trade up have been the Jaguars at No. 5, the Texans at 25 and the Broncos at No. 20.

The Browns probably won’t want to move very far back if they do make the move, making the Jaguars the most attractive partner of that bunch. Presumably the Jaguars and other teams would moving up to draft Hunter, widely-regarded as the premier player in this class.

The Browns have hosted other top 10 prospects for top 30 visits, including LSU offensive tackle Will Campbell, Michigan defensive tackle Mason Graham and Arizona Tetairoa McMillan.

The only way they’ll trade out of 2 is if a team knocks their socks off with an offer they can’t refuse. That would likely have to include a future first-round pick in order for them to give up on a potential Pro Bowler at receiver and cornerback in Hunter.

They’d also be potentially trading away from the other generational player in this draft in edge rusher Abdul Carter.

The last time the Browns had the No. 2 overall pick, in 2016, they traded down to No. 8 with the Eagles, who drafted quarterback Carson Wentz. The Browns parlayed that initial trade into 11 picks, but only four-time Pro Bowler Denzel Ward became a longtime quality starter for the Browns.
