ATP Munich Quarterfinal Predictions Including Alexander Zverev vs Tallon Griekspoor

Top seed Alexander Zverev headlines quarterfinal action at ATP Munich. The German will look to avenge his loss to Tallon Griekspoor at Indian Wells. Two other seeds will also set sights on a semifinal spot, but who will advance?

ATP Munich Quarterfinal Predictions

Fabian Marozsan vs Zizou Bergs

Head-to-head: Marozsan 2-0 Bergs

Bergs was electric in dismissing the home lucky loser Diego Dedura 6-1 6-1, while Marozsan earned an impressive 6-4 6-4 win over fourth seed Ugo Humbert. This is not the standout match of the day, but it has the potential to deliver in quality and drama. When they played in the Monte Carlo qualifying over a week ago, Marozsan was victorious in straight sets. But expect a very close tussle in their sequel, with the Hungarian still starting as the slight favorite.

Prediction: Marozsan in 3

Francisco Cerundolo vs David Goffin

Head-to-head: first meeting

Cerundolo has played near-immaculate tennis in Munich, dropping only seven games in two matches. He’s already into double digits for the season on clay (11-4). Goffin started the year with five straight losses, and just when we thought his career was winding down, he delivered one of the most spectacular results of his career by defeating Carlos Alcaraz in Miami. He has lost two matches since that monumental upset, but the confidence he gained was priceless in scraping past Billy Harris and then tricky Yannick Hanfmann this week. This will be his second quarterfinal of the season, but it’s unlikely he’ll succeed playing Cerundolo, whose controlled offense will likely win the day.

Ben Shelton vs Luciano Darderi

Head-to-head: first meeting

Shelton survived another close match, beating Botic van de Zandschulp 7-6 6-3 two days after his dramatic 4-6 7-6 7-6 win over Borna Gojo. Although he sits comfortably in the Top 20, he won’t be the favorite against Luciano Darderi. The Italian’s game is built for this surface. He’s capable of being a rhythm breaker and taking advantage of Shelton’s volatility, particularly when the serve misfires. As bold as it is to say, Darderi will likely control the flow of this match.

Prediction: Darderi in 3

Alexander Zverev vs Tallon Griekspoor

Head-to-head: Zverev 6-2 Griekspoor

2025 promised so much but delivered so little so far for Zverev, whose wait for a Grand Slam title continues, and his form stalled in a critical moment while he was in the box seat to take over as the world number one. Griekspoor enters this match in good form with five wins in his last seven matches on clay – a run that includes a runner-up finish in Marrakech and two match wins this week. However, Munich is the perfect setting for Zverev to get everything in order and rekindle his season. Zverev is still fragile, but maybe he’ll play with freedom now that the pressure has been lifted.

Prediction: Zverev in 2
