Steve Kerr Getting Praised for What He Did During Warriors Blowout

Losing was not an option for the Houston Rockets on Wednesday night with their season on the line.

The Rockets knew full well that they needed a victory in Game 5 after going down 3-1 in the series against the Golden State Warriors, and their unwillingness to lose was apparent from the get-go.

Houston came out of the gate firing, outscoring the Warriors, 40-24, after the first quarter. By halftime, they were up by 27 points.

The Warriors attempted to mount a comeback in the second half, but head coach Steve Kerr quickly pulled the plug on that one after seeing his team go down 29 points at the midway point of the third quarter.

The four-time NBA champion coach made the decision to waive the white flag by pulling out his starters. While some might feel that it was premature, considering how there were still around 18 minutes of game action remaining, the majority of Warriors fans made it clear that they completely agree with Kerr’s call.

“Right decision. Rest up for game 6,” a comment on X read.

“Good call. Can’t risk these bounty hunters to hurt our players even more,” said another.

“Happiest thing that happened in the game,” declared a fan.

“Wise decision …” posted a viewer.

“Love that decision. Don’t risk anything,” another wrote.

“Great move. It’s all on Friday,” a reaction read.

Kerr clearly already has his sights set on Friday’s Game 6 matchup, which will be played at Chase Center.

The Warriors failed to close out this series in Game 5, but they will get another opportunity come Friday. Houston may have turned this series around, but it’s still Golden State that has the upper hand — at least for now.
