Final-round Zurich Classic television coverage hit by massive power outage

Final-round television coverage of the Zurich Classic has been plagued with power outage issues, according to the PGA Tour.

Issues on-site at TPC Louisiana have made it impossible to watch a large portion of the final round Sunday in the Big Easy. Golf Channel was scheduled to show coverage until 3 p.m. ET but moved to PGA Tour Champions coverage 30 minutes earlier. When coverage of the Zurich Classic moved to CBS at 3 p.m., coverage of Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry’s march to victory in 2024 was being aired with a ticker across the bottom of the screen noting technical difficulties.

At 3:42 p.m. ET the horn blew and play was suspended because of inclement weather. Andrew Novak and Ben Griffin hold a three-shot lead over Jake Knapp and Frankie Capan III. McIlroy and Lowry are tied for sixth place, five shots off the lead.
