GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) – The NFL and Lowe’s partnered with local non-profit Habitat for Humanity during the NFL Draft on Thursday.
Their mission? To combat the housing affordability crisis in our communities.
Former Packers linebacker Clay Matthews joined 20 Lowe’s employees from across the state to work on 14 homes that will potentially house more than 90 people.
Matthews says he loves seeing the Green Bay community continue to look out for one another.
“I was fortunate enough to be here for 10 years, and obviously, I came here as a single man. Ended up getting married. Having my kids. Raising them out here. Two of my children were born out here. You appreciate the people. You appreciate the hospitality. You appreciate how they look out for one another,” says Matthews.
The homes will be finished this fall, marking a record-breaking year for the non-profit.
