Garden State Parkway, Route 9 reopen in Ocean County after fire closures

LACEY — The Garden State Parkway and Route 9 have reopened Wednesday morning since a massive wildfire triggered officials to close the busy highways on Tuesday.

Route 532 between the Parkway and Route 72 remains closed as of Wednesday morning, according to Ocean Township (Waretown) Police. The road was closed Tuesday after a fire erupted near Jones Road in the Greenwood Forest Wildlife Management Area.

Bryant Road remains closed between Route 532 and Route 539, according to the New Jersey Forest Fire Service.

Jones Road is closed between Rt. 532 and Bryant Road, according to the fire service.

Drivers in Lacey are urged to use caution, because portions of the township remain without power and some traffic signals are on backup power and may not function consistently, according to police.
