The Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets are set to square off in Game 1 of the first round of the NBA Playoffs on Sunday night at 6:30 p.m., and despite the difference in seeding, this series is not exactly lopsided in favor of the higher seeded Rockets. The No. 7 seed Warriors battled their way through the Play-In Tournament, knocking off the Grizzlies to earn their spot, while the No. 2 seed Rockets cruised to a 52-30 regular season record behind one of the most balanced young rosters in the league.
Still, Golden State is a fairly heavy favorite according to the Vegas odds, thanks to the playoff-tested core of Steph Curry, Draymond Green, and head coach Steve Kerr, along with the midseason addition of Jimmy Butler, which turned the Warriors into one of the best teams in the league down the stretch. That said, Houston already proved they’re no pushovers, holding Curry to just 3 points in their last meeting only a couple of weeks ago.
Game 1 tips off from Toyota Center in Houston, and whether you’re fans of the Dubs or you’re rooting for the youngins from H-Town, it’s easy to catch the action live with Sling TV.
