Justin Thomas has ended his three-year wait for a PGA Tour title by winning the RBC Heritage, a Signature Event, at Harbour Town Golf Links in South Carolina.
Thomas shot a round of 68 on Sunday to finish on 17-under for the tournament, alongside fellow American Andrew Novak. The pair entered a playoff to decide the winner, and it was Thomas who emerged victorious thanks to a birdie on the first extra hole.
Thomas’ win on Sunday came after he was left smelling “like a wet dog” after trying to play a shot out of the water a day earlier. Maverick McNealy, meanwhile, has accepted he’s the “worst player” inside the Official World Golf Ranking’s (OWGR) top 10.
European Ryder Cup star Tommy Fleetwood and defending champion Scottie Scheffler were in contention heading into Sunday, but they both shot a round of 70 to finish on 13-under and 12-under respectively. Daniel Berger, Mackenzie Hughes, Brian Harman, and Maverick McNealy all finished the tournament on 14-under to claim a tie for third.
Thomas’ victory will come as a relief, as it’s his first since winning his second PGA Championship at Southern Hills Country Club in May 2022. The two-time major winner has played consistently during that time – never dropping outside of the top 40 in the OWGR – and he picked up two runner-up finishes earlier in 2025.
Yet this win will serve as a reminder to the likes of Scheffler and Masters champion Rory McIlroy that Thomas can still pick up the biggest prizes in men’s golf. Thomas’ last win on the PGA Tour came before Netflix’s popular docuseries ‘Full Swing’ – which follows professional golfers across the planet – first started airing back in 2023.

Justin Thomas’ wife doesn’t want to be interviewed on ‘Full Swing’
Thomas has appeared in both series of ‘Full Swing’ to date, but he recently spoke about how his wife Jillian Wisniewski doesn’t feel comfortable being interviewed for the show. The couple dated for around five years before getting engaged in 2021 and married a year later. Thomas and Wisniewski welcomed their first child Molly Grace in 2024.
“Full Swing is interesting because, you know it is great, and we’ve gained a lot of fans because of it,” Thomas told ‘Throwbacks’ on April 3 before the Masters. “But as somebody who’s on it, I want to keep my personal life and my wife and family out of it.
“Obviously, it’s their show, so they rightfully would love to be filming us, but they wouldn’t do anything that I wouldn’t allow. But just for us personally, I’m like, ‘Hey guys, my wife doesn’t need to sit down and do an interview she doesn’t want to, like, we just want to keep this part of our life separate.'”
Thomas then joked: “I’m not that interesting, I play golf, like, 25 weeks of the year… I’m watching these other (Netflix) documentaries, like ‘Receiver’ or the NHL, and it’s just so awesome. And I’m like, ‘God that’s so cool.’ And I’m sitting here. I’m like, ‘I’m a hypocrite.’ Like I’m the one that doesn’t want to give it, but then I watch it. It’s just weird to think that’s what people think about us.”
