Easter Sunday: Which stores will be open or closed for shopping?

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Easter Sunday has arrived, which means stores will be closed in observance of the holiday.

Many are looking to either get a last-minute outfit for an Easter gathering or materials for an Easter basket, and there will be a few options for stores that will be open on Sunday, but not many.

USA Today states that retail stores like Walmart, Home Depot, Petco, PetSmart, Big Lots, and Ikea are open, while many others, like Target, Macy’s, Kohl’s, TJ Maxx, and Lowe’s, are closed. Other retailers such as the Hampshire and Holyoke Mall, will also be closed.

Several restaurants such as Burger King, Denny’s, Domino’s, Panera Bread, Sonic, Taco Bell, Wendy’s, and more will all be open, but make sure you check their hours before heading out. Grocery stores like Stop & Shop, CVS, and Trader Joe’s will be open for various hours, but Big Y, Aldi, Costco, and Sam’s Club will be closed.

You may want to try to get that shopping out of the way as soon as possible so you can avoid the hassle in stores, but before heading out, be sure to check ahead either online or over the phone to confirm hours and staffing.
