Dr. Oz’s Swearing In Ceremony Ends When Girl Faints In Oval Office

Television personality Mehmet Oz was sworn in as the new administrator for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, but the Oval Office ceremony ended when a girl family member fainted.

A reporter was about to ask a question when the incident occurred, and Trump looked over at what was happening. White House staffers could then be heard shouting “press out” and “get out right now.” Trump then went over to see what happened, and could be heard saying, “She’s OK.”

Per the White House, “A minor family member fainted during Dr. Oz’s swearing in ceremony in the Oval Office. We are happy to say she is okay.”

According to a pool reporter, Oz rushed over to the girl, and she stood up but appeared unsteady. She then made her way out of the Oval Office.

Earlier, Trump talked up Oz’s ratings when he hosted the daytime Dr. Oz, and also emphasized his medical credentials.

In his remarks, Oz said that they would reduce chronic disease. “It is the patriotic duty of all Americans to take care of themselves. It’s important for serving in the military, but it’s also important because healthy people don’t consume healthcare resources. The way to reduce drug spending is to use less drugs because you don’t need them because you are healthy. And it feels a lot better as well.”

Oz was joined by Secretary of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who swore him into office.

Oz’s show ended when he ran as a Republican for U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania in 2022. He lost the race to Democrat John Fetterman.
