Today is Good Friday, the Christian holiday that commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. It comes before Resurrection Sunday on Easter and, while not a federal holiday, there are some closures today.
Good Friday is a state holiday in Connecticut, Texas, Delaware, Hawaii, Indiana, Tennessee, Florida, Kentucky, Louisiana, New Jersey, North Carolina and North Dakota, so you can expect more closures in those places.
Nationally, financial markets Nasdaq and the New York Stock Exchange are closed.
Federal, state and most municipal offices are open as are all retailers and most businesses.

The U.S. Postal Service is running on a regular schedule today which means post offices are open and mail will run as normal.
There are more widespread closures on Easter Sunday. Target, Costco, Sam’s Club, Lowe’s, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, HomeGoods, Macy’s, JC Penney, Kohl’s, Aldi and Publix will remain closed on April 20. Other retailers will open but will be on holiday schedules with limited hours.
Walmart will be open for regular hours.
