How to watch Warriors vs. Trail Blazers

The Golden State Warriors are set to play their final road game of the regular season with Friday night’s matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers. The game will be played at 7:00 PM PT in Portland and can be watched on NBC Sports Bay Area.

Previously with the Warriors:

Golden State is coming off a crushing 114-111 loss to the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night, sealed by a buzzer-beating fadeaway three courtesy of former Warrior Harrison Barnes.

The Warriors started the game off strong, building a 12-point lead entering the fourth quarter. However, they couldn’t close the deal as missed shots and costly turnovers created an opportunity for the Spurs to storm back, outscoring Golden State 38-23 in the final period.

This Draymond Green soundbite pretty much sums up the way the Warriors are talking about tonight’s loss to the Spurs: couldn’t get enough stops, let them hang around and find a rhythm, allowing straight line drives. pic.twitter.com/EFCZhMmGzY

What to watch for tonight:

With just two games remaining, the Warriors have no margin for error. Thanks to the Memphis Grizzlies’ loss on Thursday night, Golden State now sits in the sixth seed in the Western Conference. Wins in both of their final two games—Friday vs. Portland and Sunday vs. the Los Angeles Clippers—would secure their spot and help them avoid the Play-In Tournament.

After the Memphis loss, the Warriors control their own destiny again for a playoff spot. Win the final two (at Blazers, vs Clippers) and they’ll be at least the sixth seed. Could also climb above Clippers if they lose to Kings tomorrow (and Nuggets if they go 0-2).

Fortunately, they’ll get help from a soft matchup against a Portland team (35-45) limping to the finish line. The Blazers rank 12th in the West and are without nearly all of their core players—Anfernee Simons, Deandre Ayton, Scoot Henderson, Jerami Grant, and Deni Avdija are all sidelined for Friday’s game.

Quinten Post and Gary Payton II are questionable for Warriors tomorrow night. Deni Avdija is doubtful for the Blazers. Scoot Henderson, Anfernee Simons, Jerami Grant and Deandre Ayton are out. Warriors facing depleted Portland team.

The Warriors have shown resilience all season after tough losses. Expect them to come out with urgency as they look to take care of business and close the regular season strong.
