Actress Pamela Bach, who originated the role of Mari Jo Mason on daytime drama The Young and Restless, has died at the age of 61. According to TMZ, Bach was found dead in her Los Angeles home on Wednesday, March 5, of an apparent suicide. She was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, per the outlet.
Born October 16, 1963 in Tulsa Oklahoma, Pamela Bach debuted on television in primetime with a guest appearance in the drama Otherworld in 1985. Other guest roles followed, including George Burns’ Comedy Week, T.J. Hooker, Cheers, The Fall Guy, and Knight Rider, where she met her future husband, David Hasselhoff. Bach appeared opposite Hasselhoff in nine episodes of Baywatch and in an episode of the spinoff Baywatch Nights.

The couple were married in December 1989 and divorced in August 2006.
“Our family is deeply saddened by the recent passing of Pamela Hasselhoff. We are grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time but we kindly request privacy as we grieve and navigate through this challenging time,” said David Hasselhoff in a statement.
In film, Bach’s debut role was in Rumble Fish, directed by Francis Ford Coppola, in 1983. She appeared in six movies through the course of her career, with the most recent More Than Puppy Love in 2002. She also had the recurring role of Dr. Ellen Baskin in the 1994-95 TV crime drama Sirens.
Bach is survived by her daughters Taylor and Hayley.
