Small plane crash shuts down traffic near I-95 in Boca Raton, police say

A small plane crash has shut down traffic near Interstate 95 on Tri-Rail tracks in Boca Raton on Friday morning, police said.

Boca Raton Police shared on X that North Military Trail is closed between Northwest 19th Street and Butts Road due to a “small aircraft crash.”

The I-95 overpass at Glades Road is also closed in both east- and westbound directions, and police are asking everyone to avoid the area.

Chopper 4 is over the scene, where debris from the plane crash covered the Tri-Rail tracks with several emergency vehicles surrounding the crash site.

A public information officer for the Tri-Rail told CBS News Miami that train traffic in the area has stopped at this time.
