The Golden State Warriors wrap up their final back-to-back of the regular season with Wednesday night’s matchup against the San Antonio Spurs. Tipoff is set for 7:00 PM PT in San Francisco and will be broadcasted on NBC Sports Bay Area.
Previously with the Warriors:
Golden State dominated the Phoenix Suns, 133-95, on Tuesday night, putting together one of their most complete performances of the season. After jumping out to a 37-24 lead in the first quarter, the Warriors never looked back, expanding their lead to 34 points by the start of the fourth. With the outcome secured early, head coach Steve Kerr was able to rest his starters with no Warrior playing more than 26 minutes.
Steph Curry bounced back from a quiet night against Houston with a team-high 25 points on 9-of-17 shooting. He also tallied nine rebounds, six assists, three triples, a steal, and a block—stuffing the stat sheet despite his limited time on the floor.
What to watch for tonight:
Tonight marks the second-to-last home game of the season for Golden State. They’re looking to capitalize on this soft matchup against an injury-riddled Spurs team that has dropped eight of its last 10, including their last three in a row.
The Warriors, on the other hand, have everything to play for. They’re locked in a four-way tie with the Denver Nuggets, Los Angeles Clippers, and Memphis Grizzlies—all sitting at 47-32—as the Western Conference playoff race hits its final stretch.
One key contributor these past several games has been guard Brandin Podziemski. The second-year standout scored 22 points against the Suns and has been averaging 20.6 points per game through the first five games of April. He’s emerging as a steady scoring option alongside Curry, just in time for the team’s playoff push.
