After 40 years as the voice of the New York Rangers, Sam Rosen is saying goodbye at the end of this season; tonight, as the regular season comes to a close, a very special reunion is set to take place.
Rosen, who began his tenure with the Rangers in 1984, spent 20 years calling games alongside John Davidson. Davidson, who is now a senior advisor with the Columbus Blue Jackets, will return to the Rangers’ broadcast booth for one final game alongside Rosen tonight.
Rosen and Davidson were broadcasting partners from 1986 to 2006; in 1994, they were on the call when the Rangers won the Stanley Cup, leading to Rosen’s iconic “This one will last a lifetime!”
