  • The first win comes for Hardik Pandya’s side and in an emphatic manner! Ashwani Kumar made a dream debut with his 4/24 in the first innings before Ryan Rickelton made short of the 117-run chase. Suryakumar Yadav added the cherry on top with his late fireworks.

  • Narine to Jacks, pulls it over cow corner for a SIX. FIFTY for Rickelton in 33 deliveries. Another maximum, picks it off the length and heaves it wide of long on. He works the fourth delivery to long on to pocket a run.
  • Jacks pushes the fifth with soft hands between long on and deep midwicket, runs two. A clip off his pads to deep midwicket gets Jacks a single.
  • Varun for his third. BEATEN! Rickelton goes after this wide delivery which turns further away from him, misses. A single to long on on the second delivery. Jacks sweeps from outside off to to fine leg, single taken. Varun again takes the delivery away from Rickelton, beating him on the drive. Rickelton punches the fifth to deep cover. A leg-spinner to Jacks to finish the over, just misses the edge.
  • Sunil Narine into the attack. SIX! Rickelton gets down on one knee and slog sweeps this over deep midwicket. Narine drags the third by a fraction, Rickelton gets into his crease to push this to deep cover for one.
  • Appeal for lbw and KKR goes up. Jacks goes on the front foot looking to run this to long on, misses the line by some margin and is caught on the pad. The turn ensures the ball just about clips the leg stump and the umpire’s call saves Jacks on that occassion.

Rickelton gets a leading edge while trying to work the second delivery through the on side, goes well wide of the bowler and gets him a run. Jacks goes back into his crease, clips off his pad for one run. FOUR! Full and outside off, Rickelton goes for a reverse sweep and beats backward point.

  • Harshit. Too full and Rickelton smacks it straight past the bowler for four! SIX! Pulls it away way over the square leg region. Low full toss and Rickelton places it past mid off for four! 
  • Johnson. Rickelton gets a thick outside edge over backward point and gets a double. Now he slogs and the ball runs away for four behind square leg. SIX! Rickelton once again swings hard, gets an outside edge that goes over deep third boundary. 13 runs came in that over. 
  • Harshit Rana from the other end. Rohit is beaten on the inside edge. Terrific inswinger! Looks to slog off the second delivery, is beaten again. He takes a single off the third ball. Rickelton is off the mark with a single. Yorker, Rohit times well towards midwicket and gets a double; it’s a no ball as well. Full toss and Rohit slaps it straight for SIX! This time Rohit cuts, and gets a double towards point.

  • Mitchell Santner into the attack. Rinku tries to cut the first between short third man and point but fails to pick the gap, no run. The second grips and turns sharply into the leftie, gets his bat in the way and runs one.
  • Pandey facing Santner, drives to deep cover, one run. Daring! Rinku reverse sweeps but just about clears the point fielder, one run as deep cover stops this. Manish punches the final delivery to deep cover to make it four singles from the over.
  • Hardik to Pandey, one run to deep cover with a punch. Rinku blocks this outside off and picks a single through covers. Pandey square drives to point, no run. A bouncer to follow from Hardik, Pandey ducks.
  • FOUR! Backs his pull shot on this bouncer, breaches the fence with perfect placement wide of deep midwicket.

  • Vignesh Puthur now. A full delivery on the pads, Rinku works it away to fine leg for one. Pandey tries to swipe across at this wide delivery, manages to but short midwicket stops it.

  • The second nips into the right-hander, clips it to third man for one. Rinku mistimes a flick on the third delivery, gets an inside edge onto his pad, no run. Two runs on the fourth, Rinku shuffles to his leg side and slices over point, cut off by deep cover. Rinku slashes the fifth to deep third, one run.
  • GONE! Angkrish takes on the bouncer but finds the fielder at deep midwicket. A promising innings cut short.

  • Chahar to Angkrish, FOUR! Full and outside off and Angkrish plays a straight drive that would delight any cricket enthusiast. He runs the second down to deep third for one. Chahar goes a touch short to Iyer, sways away out of the line. 
  • WICKET! Chahar has his second. Another one hugging the bodyline, Iyer wants to ramp this over the keeper but it comes to him too fast, leading to an edge which Rickelton collects.

  • Rinku Singh in next, not very often that he’s taking guard in the PowerPlay. CLOSE! Another bouncer at the bodyline from Chahar, Rinku ducks away from this.
  • Boult to Angkrish, a hint of movement away, takes the outside of the bat and gets him a single in front of point. Boult to Iyer, defends, this delivery comes straight into him. No run, angling into the pads, Iyer blocks it to midwicket. Iyer punches the fourth from outside off, fielded by covers. Two runs on the fifth, Iyer heaves this over point, does not middle it, but gets enough to clear the circle. PUT DOWN! Iyer slices the last straight to Ashwani at short third who spills it.
  • Ashwani Kumar to Rahane, OUT! That’s a dream debut for Ashwani. This is wide outside off and Rahane slices this, holes out to Tilak Varma at third man. He fumbles the ball at first but gathers it on the second try.

  • Venkatesh Iyer walks in now. Ashwani nips it back into the leftie, beats him. CHANCE! Iyer steps down the track for a heave, the bat turns in his hand bringing the point fielder into the mix to catch that. Mitchell Santner turns back and tries for it but cannot.
  • SIX! Another short ball dispatched over fine leg. Angkrish picks his first maximum. He punches the final delivery to third man for one.
  • Boult to Raghuvanshi, charges down to which Boult pulls his length back, guided to short third for a single. SIX RUNS! A bouncer to Rahane who hooks this behind square. Rahane drives the third to mid off for another single. Angkrish pulls, but there is a deep square leg in place which keeps this shot down to two.
  • Deepak Chahar to de Kock, starts with a wide outside off. OUT! De Kock has picked the mid off fielder, this was slightly wide but there for hitting, he drives from slightly outside the line and perishes.

  • FOUR! Angkrish Raghuvanshi gets the first delivery on his pads, whips it away through square leg. FOUR more! Class! Angkrish gets on top of the bounce and punches through point. He defends the fourth and the pair completes a quick single.
  • Chahar to Rahane now. FOUR to end the over, too full and Rahane picks it and sends it through mid on.
  • Boult to de Kock, a length ball outside off, driven to covers. The second shapes away from the off-stump line, de Kock leans in and plays it wide of mid off to pick a single. Boult to Narine, no run, clears his front leg for a slog down the ground, does not middle it.
