Ash Wednesday: Map shows which NYC churches are giving out ashes

NEW YORK (PIX11) – An interactive map created by the Archdiocese of New York will show you what churches are giving out ashes on Ash Wednesday.

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent. Ashes are made from burned palm fronds from Palm Sunday and represent repentance and humility, according to the archdiocese’s website.

The map lets you search for churches in New York City and beyond – up until Ulster County. Click here for the parish finder map.
