Vehicle drives through after school program building in Chatham (WICS/Dave Warren)

CHATHAM, Ill. (WICS) — A tragic accident occurred at 3:20 p.m. when a vehicle crashed into the YNot building, located in the 300 block of Breckenridge Road, which houses an after-school camp. The vehicle traveled through the building, exiting on the west side.

According to police, the incident resulted in four fatalities. Three of the victims were outside the building and were struck before the vehicle entered. The fourth victim was inside the building at the time of the crash.

Several individuals sustained injuries and were transported to local hospitals. One person required airlift transport by helicopter.

The driver of the vehicle was not injured but was taken to a nearby hospital for observation. Further details will be provided as they become available.
