The 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup is on matchday 5, and Group A is back on the field tonight. Costa Rica will face the Dominican Republic in the first match, while Suriname and Mexico dance in the nightcap.
Costa Rica had a wild match against Suriname in their opener, but got the 4-3 win. They will have to do much better against a Dominican Republic team that really impressed in a 3-2 loss to Mexico. That match was their first Gold Cup match ever, and they had a couple of opportunities late to pull off the shock result. They will now scrap to try and get points against a Ticos side that has shown it can be vulnerable.
In the late match, Mexico won in the Gold Cup opener, but they had some late lapses on defense which allowed the match to be close. They will want to perform better against Suriname, who needs the win to stay in the hunt for a knockout round spot.
