1 injured after house collapses during storm in Maury County

MAURY COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — A house in Maury County collapsed early Monday morning as severe weather swept through Middle Tennessee.

According to the Maury County Fire Department, first responders were called to a home off Cecil Farm Road around 12:42 a.m. after the roof was ripped from a relatively-new house.

Firefighters rescued one person from the house who suffered minor injuries. The resident was treated at the scene.

Officials said MCFD and Maury County EMS provided resources and support to the residents after the incident.

“Multiple powerful storms swept through Maury County on March 31st, 2025 in the early hours of the morning. The storms left a trail of destruction in its wake. These storms brought intense winds, heavy rainfall, and possible tornado activity; they caused significant damage to the County that we all call home. Emergency responders are actively assessing the extent of the damage,” said Maury County Office of Emergency Management Director Jeff Hardy in a release.

Hardy added there are downed trees, power lines and damage to multiple structures in the county. Several neighborhoods experienced power outages, and local officials are urging residents to avoid hazardous areas while crews work to restore services.

Trotwood Avenue is currently closed to traffic.

The National Weather Service will be in Maury County Monday to perform damage assessments.
